Sat, 20 October 2007 Here's a recorded discussion with community leaders from the north and east sides of Madison about a forum held with the Board of Education. The Board discussion included a set of questions submitted the East Attendance Area PTO Coalition and the Northside Planning Council. One central focus of these two community organizations is to reach a workable solution to achieving Equity in the Madison Metropolitan School District. The Northside Planning Council(NPC) seeks "to improve the quality of life for all residents of the Northside community by [i]ncreasing citizen participation and voice in issues and decisions affecting the Northside community through neighborhood organizing and advocacy..." By organizing this special meeting of the Board of Education, the NPC elevated the participation of citizens in the conversation with the Board. You can keep up to date on many issues affecting the city of Madison by visiting their website at Northside Planning Council link. Comments[0] |
